Estimate how much time and material you'll need to complete your installation or decorating project. Save time with these handy calculators.
- Carpet calculator: A quick carpet calculator for estimating your carpet needs. Gives results in feet and yards. From Lowe's.
- Construction calculators: If you're
a builder/remodeler, Lowes offers a wide range of construction calculators,
"from insulation to concrete calculators (including man-hour estimates)."
The exclusive calculators are offered as part of their "enhanced
registration experience." For more information go to LowesForPros.com
- Paint calculator: Calculate your interior or exterior paint needs in metric or imperial (gallons). Simple to use and fast. Separate calculations for walls, ceilings, trim, doors, etc. Calculator tells you what measurements you'll need, prompts to subtract for windows and doors. We like this paint calculator at Benjamin Moore.
- Remodeling Budget Estimator at HGTV.com ~ Gives cost estimates for eight different project categories, with several sub-categories to choose from to make the estimate more specific (i.e., for bathroom remodel, you can choose bath with shower, powder room, new bath with tub, new bath with shower, etc.). Cost estimates are based on regional pricing information determined by the zip code you enter. Go to Remodeling Budget Estimator.
- Tile calculator/Ceramic: The Tile Doctor has a good one. Go to the ceramic tile calculator.
- Wallpaper calculator: Tells you what to measure; gives results for rolls of 3 different lengths. We like this one because it's at the MetLife website and you don't have to wade through a bunch of wallpaper ads. Go to MetLife's wallpaper calculator.
- Wood Flooring calculator: For a quick estimate of material and man-hours needed for your installation, go to the LowesForPros site.
